As per an updated study, around one in five people aged 25-34 in the UK are using smart technology to plan their getaways.

Generational Difference in AI Usage

Although conventional pre-arranged vacations remain the top selection, findings indicates that 18% of 25- to 34-year-olds utilize AI tools like ChatGPT for trip ideas.

Conversely, less than 3% of older adults use AI as a source for vacation planning.

Overall, one in four of British people persist in choose printed guides when planning their holidays.

Rising Reliance in AI Assistants

The travel association expect the adoption of smart tools to increase sharply in the coming years.

Close to a large portion of participants stated they would be willing to trust an AI assistant to arrange their holidays fully.

Post-Pandemic Travel Recovery

Data shared at a recent tourism conference showed that the number of Britons booking a vacation last year has nearly returned to pre-Covid numbers.

Roughly the vast majority of people polled booked a break in the UK or overseas last year.

A growing percentage of respondents stated a holiday as the primary non-essential purchase, valued more than leisure, devices, and other entertainment, even during challenging financial periods.

Younger holidaymakers were also double the chance to select a provider, hotel, or place due to its sustainability efforts.

Several experts shared reservations about such statements.

However, the same executive added that young travellers "seem to be a lot more aware and healthier living than when I was young".

Demands for Regulation in Travel Industry

The challenges with overtourism in Spanish destinations and elsewhere were blamed on "unlicensed tourism" as opposed to established brands.

This included appeals for officials to clamp down on instances where rental hosts do not have a tourism licence, health and safety certificate, or correct financial reporting.
